“The Corner” is located where Kenmare, Centre, Lafayette, Broome, & Spring Streets intersect.  This eight foor square mosaic is installed in the V.I.P dining room area.  The owner of this three level Mexican restaurant (the classic stainless steel diner, café, and basement private dining rooms), provided me with an actual size printout of the artwork.  I fabricated the mosaic from hand-cut stained glass and laid-out the individual pieces directly over the printout.  I transferred the mural onto panels.  The images narrate a “Proudly Aztec” theme (lettered on the side of the Monte Carlo low rider) with circular stone calendar, eagle swooping in on a snake, princess & warrior wearing feathered headdresses, jewelry, and patterned fabric.  I fabricated the gold mosaic pieces (border and lettering) by cutting vintage window glass and back coated with layers of gold leaf.
