This client was as mad for mosaics as she was for the paintings of Pierre Bonnard.  To renovate the four bathrooms of her 14th Street Penthouse, we poured over the paintings selecting passages for floor and wall details.  (Bonnard’s wife posed in the bath as a model for hundreds of his oils and watercolors…each a new interpretation of color, light and form.)  I noticed that he invented a colorful geometric pattern for the rug in each.  I ordered over 60 colors of Bisazza galss mosaic tile, removed them from the foot square grids, and laid-out each tile individually on the work table.  When the client was satisfied with the area, I covered it with contact paper, then cut the contact paper into manageable sections for my installation.
